Maryland did not lose a singles or doubles match on the day, and only dropped one set

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The No. 57 Maryland men's tennis team won two matches by way of shutout Saturday, first defeating Delaware 7-0, then beating UMBC 7-0.

Maryland (9-2, 1-1) swept the doubles matches, and lost just one set in singles competition against Delaware (1-3). The Terps also won all three doubles matches against UMBC (6-3), and didn't drop a single set to the Retrievers.

Maryland's Amit Inbar, Nickolai Nielsen, David Kwon and Michael Coleman earned wins at both singles and doubles in the match against Delaware, and five Maryland players, including Inbar, Nielsen, Kwon, Andrew Orban and Boris Fetbroyt won in both disciplines against UMBC.

The No. 11-ranked doubles team of Orban and Fetbroyt continued to earn wins at No. 1 doubles for the Terps as they improved their record to 9-0 on the season.

Inbar, the No. 68-ranked singles player in the nation, continued to shine at No. 1 singles, as he defeated Delaware's Austin Longacre, 6-2, 6-2, and UMBC's Chris Meyer, 6-0, 6-3.

Normally relegated to only doubles competition, Coleman stepped in to win his third singles match in as many chances this season as he beat Camilo Perez of Delaware, 6-0, 6-3.

In his first singles action since a two set victory against Villanova's John Drosick on February 10, Terrapin freshman Roshan Potarazu earned a victory at No. 6 singles against Delaware's Jonathon Schwartz, 6-4, 6-1.

Maryland sophomore Alex Aksanov won both singles matches he competed in on the day, defeating Delaware's Chris Hinker at No. 4 singles, 6-4, 6-4, and UMBC's Fernando Ferreira, 6-2, 6-4.

The Terrapins will be back in action at 1 p.m. Saturday, as they continue ACC competition and play host to No. 1 Virginia at the Tennis Center at College Park.
