Terrapins to Participate in 2008 Old Spice Classic

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Maryland men's basketball team will take part in the 2008 Old Spice Classic in Orlando, Florida. The three-day tournament will take place Thanksgiving weekend at the Milk House at Disney's Wide Worlds of Sports Complex.

University of Maryland men's basketball coach Gary Williams announced Wednesday (April 16) that Tyree Evans (Richmond, Va./Motlow State CC) has signed a National Letter of Intent with the Terrapins. Evans, a 6-foot-3 shooting guard, will be available for the 2008-09 season and will have two years of eligibility with Maryland.

The Terrapins made their 15th consecutive postseason appearance in 2007-08 by advancing to the second round of the MasterCard National Invitation Tournament. Maryland finished the season 19-15, marking the 12th straight season the Terps won at least 19 games.
