A Day In the Life...

Feb. 28, 2008

Hey ya'll,

We just got back from Cheersport in Atlanta, Georgia. I got to see my friends and family because it is my home town, but we did not do as well as we had hoped, so that was upsetting. This week at practice I have been working on many new skills to increase my difficulty in tumbling, as well as my stunts. I was very excited because I got a skill back that I have not done since I was very small; an Arabian. We have been stunting a lot lately to improve our consistency since that was a problem area at Cheersport. I enjoy stunting because my stunt group is so much fun to be with even when we are working hard, we can all make each other smile and help each other push through.

Hi everyone!

Our five weekends of back to back competitions are over with Cheersport Nationals topping them off. Right now we have some time to breathe, try new tricks and improve before we get back into the swing of competition-style practices. We're trying to avoid the stresses of midterms approaching and of making the routine fit 20 girls by focusing and depending on each other. Tough days are ahead of us, but we're all capable of working through and dominating them. Everyone has been so strong with the adjustment from spring to hard floor every other practice. Our team talks and "psychology" sessions always seem to help put us in the zone by giving us confidence we may have misplaced. Next week will be preparation for our upcoming competition in Virginia. We're going to be getting ready to "boil" and give everything that extra degree of effort at these next few practices!
