Academic Support for Returning Student-Athletes Program
ASRAP

ASRAP was established at the University of Maryland in 1986, under the direction of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. Its primary goal is to provide support services to former Maryland student-athletes who left the university without completing academic degree requirements, which will allow them to complete their degree studies, and graduate.

Admission to the program:

In order to participate in the program, a student must be a former University of Maryland student-athlete, who left the university two years or more after their eligibility was exhausted, who had received 5 years of athletics aid, and did not complete the requirements for the bachelor's degree.

Support for Returning Student-Athletes:

Services provided include assistance with the re-admission and re-enrollment process; academic counseling, career exploration, and tuition to aid in the completion of degree requirements. Tuition remission requires the former student-athlete to participate in ASRAP Outreach activities and programs.
